Marston’s has teamed up with the Royal British Legion to launch exclusive poppy-themed pint and half-pint glasses, with 100% of profits going directly to the charity to support veterans and their families as part of this year’s Poppy Appeal.
Starting 26th October, Marston’s customers can purchase these limited-edition glasses at 1,175 pubs across the UK. Priced at £2.50 for a pint glass and £2.00 for a half-pint, each glass sale will contribute £0.97 and £0.47, respectively, towards the Royal British Legion Trading Limited, which donates its taxable profits to the Royal British Legion (Charity no. 219279). The glasses can be bought empty or enjoyed with a drink before taking them home—a perfect keepsake for Remembrance Month.
This unique poppy glassware initiative is part of Marston’s broader remembrance campaign. Pubs across the country will host a range of fundraising and awareness events throughout the month, including community breakfasts, live music, and more, to honour and support veterans past and present. Traditional poppies will also be available for purchase in pubs, allowing even more ways to show support for the Armed Forces community. Customers can use Marston’s pub finder to locate their nearest pub and find out more about local events.
The Royal British Legion, the UK’s largest Armed Forces charity, has been dedicated to supporting veterans, serving personnel, and their families since 1921. In 2023, the demand for assistance rose significantly, with the Legion supporting 27,000 individuals and providing over £18 million in grants to those in need. The annual Poppy Appeal is a vital fundraising campaign, enabling the Legion to continue its essential work for the Armed Forces community.
Marston’s commitment to supporting veterans extends beyond fundraising. In February 2023, the pub company re-signed the Armed Forces Covenant, reinforcing its dedication to offering employment opportunities to veterans and their families. Several Marston’s pubs are now run or staffed by ex-service personnel, highlighting the brand’s ongoing support for the Armed Forces community.
“We’re so proud to be working in partnership with the Royal British Legion to give our guests another way to raise awareness and crucial funds for veterans, who are such a large part of the Marston’s community. We want to welcome everyone to their local pub for what will be a month to remember and join us in saying thanks to our veterans,” a Marston’s spokesperson said.
Visit your local Marston’s pub this November to join in the month-long remembrance events, show appreciation for veterans, and take home a meaningful piece of glassware to support an important cause.
