Fuller’s, the premium pubs and hotels business, has teamed up with the Harlequins Foundation – the charitable arm of the Harlequins Rugby Football Club. The tie up will see money raised through the sale of specific dishes in a number of Fuller’s Richmond and Twickenham managed pubs and reinforces an existing strong relationship between Fuller’s and Harlequins.
The dishes on sale at the various pubs are:
In each case, 50p from each dish sold will go to The Harlequins Foundation.
Stuart Green, General Manager at The Cabbage Patch, said: “This is a great way for our customers to help support a fantastic local charity. We already work well with Quins and the Foundation, but this cements our relationship in a mutually beneficial way.”
Nik Hart, Head of Fundraising & Engagement at the Harlequins Foundation, said: “This is a really exciting new initiative that gives Quins fans the opportunity to support the Foundation while enjoying a trip to the pub. They are already frequenting these fantastic Fuller’s venues and now they know that as well as great food and drink, they’re directly supporting the programmes we deliver in our local communities. This is just the start of our partnership and I know that we will be adding further exciting initiatives as we develop the relationship.”
Stuart Green is also showing his support for the most vulnerable in society with The Cabbage Patch’s new colouring board, which has been erected outside the pub. The board, which has been designed by Stuart and local artist Ali Mac, is based on paint by numbers – with customers free to grab a coloured pen and colour a section in. The artwork was launched last Saturday to coincide with Harlequins first game of the season and the annual Stomp to the Stoop. The drawing reflects some of the oldest businesses in the Twickenham area and, of course, the pub’s connection to rugby.
Stuart said: “It’s so important to take time out every now and again. We all live busy lives – and this provides an opportunity to spend five minutes, just quietly colouring in an amazing mural. It’s good for Twickenham, good for The Patch, good for your mental health, and good for the soul.”
Anyone wishing to try the Quins Foundation dishes should visit the relevant pub website, where tables can be booked online. Anyone wishing to colour in a piece of the Patch’s magnificent artwork, should just head to The Cabbage Patch and ask at the bar.
