Our Team
PubAid is a working party dedicated to promoting pubs as a force for good in their local communities. Members of the Steering Group all work on a voluntary basis to influence press, broadcast media, social channels, MPs and others and showcase the invaluable support provided by licensees, their teams and their customers.
Our initiatives include the World’s Biggest Pub Quiz, which has raised £750,000 for charities since its launch in 2016, and annual competitions: the Community Pub Hero Awards and Corporate Community Hero Award. In 2022 we also launched Grassroots Sports Champions with Sky, to recognise pubs who support local sport.
PubAid was founded by Des O’Flanagan (former Scottish & Newcastle MD), Keith Knowles OBE (CEO, Beds and Bars) and Tim Sykes (Former Chairman, Beds and Bars).
